What will you do?

FastPay is seeking a hands-on Staff Accountant who will be responsible for all accounting processes and reporting focused on loan accounting treasury and foreign currency. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, a sense of ownership, great communication skills, an independent worker, and a passion for delivering results in a fast-paced, agile environment. This position will be part of a small, but nimble finance team.

Core Functions:

  • Prepare the month-end books for FastPay by entity. 
  • Ensure that all transactions are recorded in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Own the general ledger and ensure proper reconciliation of all accounts.
  • Maintain AP function including receiving, processing, verifying and reconciling invoices. Prioritize invoices according to potential cash discount and payment terms. 
  • Perform analysis on financial results monthly. Research and describe all variances in a concise and meaningful manner.
  • Assist with compiling data for the annual external audit and tax preparation.
  • Prepare and file various compliance requirements when needed. 
  • Assist with design and implementation of a strong internal control environment.
  • Assist in streamlining month end close and financial reporting processes.
  • Identify and resolve operational and financial issues involving accounting policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Maintain the fixed assets schedule and account for any additions/deletions and depreciation.

Core Competencies: 

  • Accounting or related degree
  • CPA a plus
  • Minimum 3-4 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Public accounting experience preferred
  • Fortune 500 and or private startup company experience
  • Knowledge of US GAAP
  • QuickBooks experience a plus
  • Loan accounting experience preferred
  • Experience performing month end close procedures including external/internal financial reporting
  • Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced growth environment
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Foreign exchange experience a plus
